How it works

  1. i.

Listings that mention a former use are gathered from Zoopla each week.

  2. ii.

Each is judged against one test: was this building, or a substantial part of it, built for something other than living in? Barn conversions, flats in larger developments and houses that merely stand on Chapel Lane are left out. Most of the sorting is done by software, so the odd mistake will slip through. If you spot one, press Report on the listing and we will take another look.

  3. iii.

What passes appears here, in the weekly email and on social media, with a link to the full listing on Zoopla.

  4. iv.

Every building is checked again about once a month, a quarter of the list each week. When a listing disappears from Zoopla, it comes off here. When it goes under offer, it carries an Under offer flag for up to a month, then comes off unless it returns to the market. A sale can take a few weeks to show here, so always check the listing itself.
